Master Plan & Golf Course Renovation

General Information

Forest Hills Golf Club was built in 1958 as a private golf club and currently operates with 330 members. Herfort Norby has completed numerous projects each fall for the last five or six years, however, in 2002 the Club took steps to prepare a comprehensive long-range master plan. Herfort Norby assessed the existing course and prepared a master plan which included new irrigation and stormwater ponding, new parking lot and cart staging area, new practice facilities and new tees and bunkers to improve playability and increased length.

Project Profile

The first phase of construction under the master plan was approved by the membership and Board of Directors in June of 2004 and included the excavation of three ponds, regrading of five fairways, construction of three tees and the installation of an entirely new irrigation system and pump station. Herfort Norby’s responsibilities included preparation of detailed construction plans and specifications, coordination of the competitive bidding process and contract administration services. Construction began in September of 2004 and was completed in May of 2005.
